Though you can find the noise level rating (decibel) in each generator; however, different people have different ideas about noises. What seems fine to me could be to too loud for my neighbor and so on irrespective of the manufacturer measurement.
Generally, decibels indicates the noise one generator makes at a certain distance. Most of the time, when you see a model with 70 dBA of the noise level. It means this product emits the same sound like a vacuum cleaner at a distance of 23 feet. No one should keep generators close to their tents or houses since they release toxic emissions.
